WASHINGTON, D.C.—House Energy Action Team co-chairs Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) and Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) joined House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) to applaud President Trump’s executive order to Accelerate the Nation’s Economic Recovery From the COVID-19 Emergency by Expediting Infrastructure Investments and Other Activities:

“I applaud President Trump’s executive order to expedite the permitting process and cut through harmful red tape so we can unlock investment in critical infrastructure projects across the country,” said Whip Scalise. “This executive order comes at a time when nearly 43 million Americans have lost jobs and hard-working families who are struggling need it most.  This commonsense reform to cut harmful red tape will support the efforts of all Americans to safely get back to work, and begin fixing the economic burdens caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“I commend the Trump Administration for announcing an Executive Order to expedite the permitting of infrastructure projects,” said Rep. Duncan. “Now more than ever, we need to mitigate unnecessary regulatory delays across all sectors to jump start our economy. This Executive Order coupled with the much needed reform to the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, and Clean Water Act will thankfully help bring more energy infrastructure projects to fruition. I appreciate the Trump Administration’s continued focus on practical and necessary regulatory reform that will spur our economy and support the American Energy renaissance.”

“It’s no secret the infrastructure in our country is crumbling,” said Rep. Mullin. “Investing in our infrastructure will get Americans back to work and help our economy recover from the pandemic. I applaud President Trump for taking action to accomplish both of those goals all while cutting bureaucratic red tape.”
