The HEAT Report is a weekly newsletter focusing on how members of the House Energy Action Team (HEAT) promote American energy security, and an all-of-the-above energy economy.

The Latest:In the last week, President Biden has spent more time trying to redefine what a recession is rather than working to lay out a plan to get our nation out of a recession.  We’ve seen the indicators for months now. Families are paying more for goods everywhere they go. You would think President Biden would be spending all of his time trying to figure out a plan to fix this crisis – but in fact, we’re seeing the opposite. We’re seeing denial. President Biden even tried to get Congressional Democrats to brag that gas prices are low. Everybody knows how high gas prices are and that they’ve nearly doubled since President Biden took office and started an assault on American energy. The truth is — President Biden can’t redefine his way out of a recession. He must reverse his failed policies that are hurting American families who are struggling to afford to fill up their gas tanks and feed their families. Republicans have a plan for how to get inflation under control, lower gas prices, and secure American energy independence. It’s past time that President Biden and Speaker Pelosi get serious about solving their multiple self-created crises and work with Republicans to reduce the pain being inflicted upon hardworking families. This Week’s HEAT Member Highlights:At House Republican Leadership’s weekly press conference, House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) slammed President Biden for attempting to redefine what a recession is rather than working to reduce inflation and ease the economic burden on American families.
